1994, after the exam to become a pediatric nurse, Silke worked as a co-therapist and nurse in a hospital specialized for behavior medicine and behavior therapy. 1998 she begun her schooling and training in ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis) in Los Angeles, CA, USA. After working as an ABA consultant for different ABA- institutes in Los Angeles, Silke had the opportunity to work under the supervision of Dr. John McEachin, Ph.D. (author of "A Work in Progress") at a center in upstate New York. She moved back to Germany In October of 2004. After an intensive 3 months training period she worked together under the lead and supervision of Robert Schramm, MA, BCBA as an ABA/VB consultant for the Institute Knospe-ABA. She supported Robert Schramm while he developed the concept of Knospe-ABA and in training new ABA/VB consultants. In team work with Chris, Silke attended to families with children with autism in Southern Germany and in Switzerland.

Silke learned different teaching strategies of ABA, enclosed with others: DTT (Discrete Trial Teaching), NET (Natural Environment Teaching), TEACCH and crisis intervention, as well as Verbal Behavior. She attended a workshop about PECS (Picture Exchange Communication) from Andrew S. Bondy, Ph.D. and Anne Hoffmann, M.ED. (Pyramid Educational Consultants, Inc.), and she took college classes in ASL (American Sign Language)

2004, Silke participated in the following workshops from Dr. Vincent J. Carbone, Ed.D., BCBA:
Workshop 1: "Teaching Communication Skills to Children with Autism and Other Developmental Disabilities" in Toronto, Canada
Workshop 3: "Teaching Verbal Behavior, Hands-on-Training for Tutors and Therapists" in Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA

In addition, she went to a workshop about "Support for non - speech therapists for speech related motor problems in children with autism" from Beth Kuegeler, MA, CCC-SLP, PROMPT certified instructor.

She also went to Workshops 1 and 2 about ABA/VB from Robert Schramm, MA, BCBA in Germany.

2008, Silke participated in another workshop from Dr. Vincent J. Carbone, Ed.D, BCBA: "Teaching Verbal Behavior to Children with Autism and Related Disabilities" in London, UK.

2008, she also received a lot of new information by taking part in the newly updated workshop (April 2008) from Dr. Vincent J. Carbone, Ed.D, BCBA: "Advanced Topics in Behavior Analysis and the Application of Natural Science Approach to Teaching Language to Children with Disabilities" in NY, USA.

2008, Silke went to the workshop in Switzerland: "Crisis Prevention Intervention" (CPI) from Shiri Bartman, MA, BCBA and Jennifer Donnelly, BCABA from Toronto, sponsered by Association Objectif Vaincre l`Autisme (Geneva).

2008, she visited "Intermediate ABA/VB Workshop with hands-on" in Switzerland, presented from Shiri Bartman, MA, BCBA and Jennifer Donnelly, BCABA from Toronto, Cananda, sponsored by the Association Objectif Vaincre l`Autisme (Genf).

2009, Silke participated in the "Verbal Behavior Workshop" (Teaching Communication Skills to Children with Autism and Other Developmental Disabilities) in Zurich, Switzerland, presented from Dr. Vincent J. Carbone, Ed.D., BCBA, sponsored by ABA-Parents Schweiz.

2010, Silke took part in the workshop of the Teaching Verbal Behavior: Hands-on Training for Professionals presented by Emily Sweeny-Kerwin, BCBA and Margaret M. Hagerty, BCABA, sponsored by ABA-Parents Schweiz and KJPD Zürich, Schweiz.

2011, she visited the workshop "Essential Living" presented by Dr. Patrick McGreevy, Ed.D., BCBA; as well as the workshops "Teaching ABA in dyads and small groups" and "Crisis Prevention Interventin" (CPI) by Shiri Bartmann, MA, BCBA and Jennifer Donnelly, BCABA, sponsered by Association Objectif Vaincre l'Autisme in Geneva, Switzerland.

2011, Silke participated in the "Verbal Behavior Workshop" (Teaching Communication Skills to Children with Autism and Other Developmental Disabilities with focus on school-aged children) in Zurich, Switzerland, presented from Dr. Vincent J. Carbone, Ed.D., BCBA, sponsered by ABA-Parents Schweiz.
